The person behind Money Built Better
Hi. I'm Ari Sinanis.
I built this because nobody taught me any of it, and I spent years wishing someone had. I figured it out starting at 22 and now I share everything, in plain English, with anyone who wants it.
Ari Sinanis at Nasdaq

I went to college to kick a soccer ball (futbol) and ended up breaking records for the school. But the moment I graduated, reality hit hard. Nobody cared what I did on the field. I was running out of money fast.

I ended up temping at $12.50 an hour, down to my last $300.

I commuted from Allston, Massachusetts, Dirty Allston, to then living in Somerville (Slumberville before the glory of Assembly Row) all the way to Quincy, Massachusetts for my first job in 2012. I could barely afford the MBTA monthly pass. Living off peanut butter, working every extra hour I could find, trying to build any kind of money momentum.

My first real job paid $38,000 a year. No bonus. No nothing. I struggled every single day. I would look at my bank account and joke with myself: "Go to bed hungry and wake up starving for success." My stomach did not find that funny.

But here is what I did. I read that opening a 401(k) and matching my employer's 4% would be crazy to pass up, so I did it. On $38K. With $300 to my name. That one decision changed the trajectory of everything.

I told myself: I deserve this struggle. And I meant it. Because the struggle was teaching me something nobody in my family ever sat me down to explain.

I grew up in a family that did not talk about money. We did not have conversations about ETFs or index funds. Nobody explained what a Roth IRA or 401(k) was. We were taught not to share how much we make. Not to complain about any job that put food on the table, because my father did not come to this country to complain. He came for the American Dream.

My mother came from a military family. People who swore to defend the country they loved. Money was not the conversation. Hard work was.

That background is exactly the reason I built this site.

I have lived through the rollercoaster. I have watched portfolios drop and watched them recover. I have seen crashes that felt like the end and come out the other side knowing this: bad things will happen to your investments. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when.

I am also here to tell you that if you stay consistent and use the Always Be Consistent method, you will see your money grow in ways you never thought possible. As Einstein said, compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. It does not care where you started. It only cares that you started.

Do not stop learning. Apply new skills. Build a mind where the market going up or down does not send you into panic. Build a place where it goes from stress to ease, because you know it is a marathon, not a sprint.

This site is for everyone. People building a budget from scratch. People who already have a financial foundation and want to keep growing. People who are somewhere in between and just need a clear path forward.

The American Dream just starts with doing. One dollar and a willingness to learn. Financial freedom over time is not a fantasy. It is a plan.

🤝

No judgment

Starting from zero or leveling up, this is a no-shame zone. Everyone starts somewhere.

📚

Education, not advice

I'm not your financial advisor. I'm the friend who figured it out and is sharing everything.

No ads. No commissions.

Built to educate, not to sell products or earn referral fees from anyone.

The sequence, what I actually follow

1

Build your budget

You cannot invest what you cannot see. Always step one.

2

Kill high-interest debt

22–24% APR credit card debt is a guaranteed loss. Pay it before you invest.

3

Build your emergency fund

Start with $1,000. Grow it to 6–8 months. Keep it in a HYSA.

4

Start investing

Roth IRA → 401(k) match → taxable brokerage. ETFs first.

5

Always Be Consistent

Stay invested through the highs and the lows. We're not here to beat the market. We're here to stay in it.
